Felt Felt Felt

Felt is my new friend! I love it. I've been sewing little felt flowers and cooing over their cuteness. I put some up on Etsy and have had two orders for them! I hope you'll check them out. Coming soon, other felt trinkets and miscellany, but for now here are some pictures of the felt flowers, in button and regular varieties...

Baby Board Books

Hello! If you're here from Etsy to see pictures of all the pages from the baby board books you found in my shop, this is the post for you! I've set up Flickr sets for you to easily view each collection page by page.

Baby Carrot Designs on Etsy!

I've been busy making baby board books that are now on sale at the deliciously addictive Etsy! You can find my store at http://amybethjames.etsy.com. If you look on the side bar of this blog you'll also see a link plus a couple pics of my projects.

Etsy is a community of online stores featuring all handmade and/or vintage items. You can find beautiful and unique jewelry, clothes, paintings, paper crafts, pottery, and pretty much anything else under the sun. Need a good way to spend a few hours? Enjoy browsing the self-updating "Just Added" page, which scrolls pics of the most recently listed items.

I so very much appreciate the support and encouraging words of all the people who helped me bring this venture to life. I still need lots of help and feedback so let me hear your thoughts and suggestions about my Etsy store, this blog, the projects themselves, and so on.

And of course, if you have a scrapping job, I'm up to the challenge! Let's talk!

Anniversary Album

I had mentioned on my other blog about how I got my first official scrapping "job" doing this album for a couple's 35th wedding anniversary. I am finally getting around to posting a few pages from that. I was very proud of how it turned out and I hope it preserves their family memories for many more anniversaries to come!

For the above wedding pages I had this beautiful satiny paper that seemed to go perfectly with the softened colors of the older photos. So pretty!

I got really ambitious with the ribbon in the above layout and made the star from my scraps. I love how it turned out with the staples giving it a little more boyish edge.

So in the above and below layouts you can tell I was having a blast with my newest square punch. I love that punch and it comes in so handy especially on pages like these where I had tons of photos to fit in.

Honeymoon 8x8 Book

I made this 8x8 album for Ben for our three-year anniversary. I had never made a small album before, and I loved it! 12x12 pages have lots more room, but since I don't use a lot of enlarged photos, the pictures themselves don't make as much of an impact as they do on the smaller sized pages.

I kept this book pretty simple - mostly cardstock, papers, stickers, and rub-ons. It went by relatively quickly and pretty painless. I will def. be doing some smaller books again in the future - they work great for containing everything from one specific event or trip.

Funny side note... on my camera at the time I had the date setting on... except it had gotten reset somehow and thus every single one of my honeymoon pictures from March 2005 are stamped as if it were February 1994. People will look back and think I took this honeymoon when I was eleven. Forehead slap.

Baby Boy Book & Onesies

So for the most recent soon-to-arrive baby in our office, I made some super-cute onesies! This was my first foray into baby fashion. The parents-to-be, love some of the same TV shows I do and have similar sense of humor, so I was able to go out on a not-so-traditional limb with these! I am confessing here and now that I stole borrowed the LOST and Don't Tase Me Bro designs from some far more creative soul off the internet, but the other two are my own (not the clip art, obvs). Check it out:

This one was my favorite, although I realized mere seconds after ironing it on that I misspelled Schrute. Sorry Dwight!

Here is the baby board book I made for the same couple... I absolutely love these colors and papers, yum yum yum!

Baby Book II

I've been wanting to post this one for a while, but I was waiting until I finally was able to give it to the mother-to-be!
This was a book I did for my friend and co-worker, Shanna. She and her husband are not finding out the gender of the baby ahead of time, so I was challenged to make something gender-neutral. Plus, she was doing the nursery in red. I will tell you now that there is very little baby scrapbooking stuff out there that isn't either for a boy or girl or at least in pastels! So this was a tough project for me, and I was really helped with ideas by Tammy at Scrappin' Memories, a local shop. (Here's her blog: http://www.tnscrapnmemories.blogspot.com/.)

Anyway, I LOVE LOVE LOVE how this turned out - so sweet and classic looking.

Board Books

These adorable board books are perfect for a simple baby shower gift or young child's birthday. I hand cover each sturdy board book with coordinating papers, stickers, ribbon, and embelishments to create a one-of-a-kind keepsake. All you do is fill in the photos of your choosing!

A completed custom book runs anywhere from $25-35, depending on the size and materials.

Here are some images of a 6" book I did for my friend Heidi's baby...
